The Winners

We are delighted to announce the Winners of the 2022 Not Your Kid’s Spelling Bee! The competition heated up between two tables as they vied to take home the winners’ Bee Trophy and bragging rights until next year’s Bee. Sanctioned cheating by purchasing a few Bribe the Judge cards (all in support of promoting literacy) may have spawned one table to the top of the score board. Local Scripps National Spelling Bee national semifinalist, Ashrita Gandhari, awarded our winners their prizes.

2022 Winners

Beatriz McNelly, Tracy Datner, Eric King, William King, Heather Markis, Michael Markis, Tom McElroy, and Hannah Stallstd.

Runner’s Up

Brigitta Toruño, Maristeve Bradley, Dominque Callins, Monica Chandler-Tressler, Marty Martinez, Maritza Saldana, Tom Sweitzer, and Andres Uribe.
